How Blended Learning Works
How Blended Learning Works
You work through the theory at a time that suits you, and you then join a calm, hands-on session to practise steps with a trainer.
You can use a phone or a computer for the theory, and support is close by if you hit a snag. The face-to-face session is small and steady, and the goal is confidence, not pressure.
Registered Training Status and Assessment
Skillmate is a Registered Training Organisation, and the unit shows the official code with fair, set assessment methods.
Assessors use the same criteria for every learner, and records are stored in a secure system. Your statement is issued when all parts are marked, and timeframes stay reasonable and clear.
Skills and Topics Covered
You learn to break the chain of infection with good daily habits, and you learn how to apply policy in real jobs without the guesswork.
The focus stays on simple steps that work, and language stays plain so you can teach others. You see how small actions add up across a shift, and you learn how to spot gaps before they cause problems.

Dates, Venues, and Session Details
Dates, Venues, and Session Details
Theory runs first through blended learning, and the practical session follows with small groups and simple drills.
Sessions start on time and end on time, and breaks are short so focus stays high. You get clear time estimates for each part, and you can choose a slot that suits your week.

Proving Skills and Getting Certified
When you meet the standard, you receive:
Statement of Attainment: HLTINFCOV001 Comply with Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures.
You complete a short knowledge check and show safe set-up, PPE use, cleaning methods, and incident response steps.
Practical tasks are observed against set criteria, and results are shared in plain words. If a gap appears, you get a chance to try again, and support is on hand while you do.

Pre-Course Requirements and Support
You need a USI (Unique Student Identifier), and you should bring a photo ID to your session.
Some tasks use bending, reaching, or lifting light items – you can tell the team in advance if adjustments would help. Clothing should be practical and closed shoes are required.
Long hair should be tied back for PPE. If English support helps, let the team know early, and options will be explained.
